There are a variety of ways to draw the letters. That’s the best thing about hand-lettering. It’s not one-size fits all and everyone is free to draw the letters the way they want it for as long as readability is intact and the message is clear.

But there are times even seasoned lettering artists find some letters a little intimidating, even if they’ve drawn it more than a thousand times. One of them is the letter “S”.

This letter has a spine and it’s always challenging to draw it perfectly. However, there are techniques you can use to make things a little easier. I’ve shown this technique first in my free course Styling the Alphabet and then my book  Mastering Hand-Lettering.
