DSD 2013 is just around the corner! Are you all excited about it? Well, we at Pixels and Company are! So we’ve got something up as early as today before all the hustle and bustle begins. And make sure you read on because you don’t want to miss a thing on this blog hop!

And while you’re here, I have a simple tutorial for you. Have you ever tried adding a text or a stamp or any kind of overlay to your photos to make them more scrap worthy or just – plain CUTE? If you haven’t tried it yet, maybe it’s time for you to come out of the cave and get working on it. It’s a whole lot of fun! Check out some of these photos I did.

And they can just be printed and inserted in my Project Life album. Easy! The first 2 photos are from my Everyday Stamps & Brushes while the third is from my upcoming Grab Bag at my guest store this November. Don’t you just love them?

If this is your first time to use stamps and/or overlays on photos, follow these simple steps in Photoshop

1. Open your file/photo

2. Browse for the element filename – Go to File>Open

3. The stamp and/or overlay element will automatically be added as a separate layer on top of your photo. However, the supplied colors might not match  the colors of your picture. Proceed to Step 4 to edit.

4. Click on Adjustment Layer at the bottom of the layers panel and select Solid Color. 

5. On you color palette, choose the color that best matches your picture. The canvass will turn into your chosen color. Right click on the Color Fill layer and select Create Clipping Mask
