Have you been decorating for Halloween? I’m here today to show you how to make a cute Haunted House. I used papers and elements from Mye’s new kit Spookalicious, have you seen it yet? It’s perfect for scrapping Halloween, using with Halloween hybrid projects and documenting spooky adventures in your Project Life album.

For this project, you’ll need:

• Spookalicious kit by Mye De Leon

• my Haunted House template

• printer

• cardstock

• scissors (optional: x-acto knife)

• glue, glue dots or glue runner

• a piece of twine or string

Instructions:

1. First, I created a template in Photoshop to make my haunted house. You can grab that template for yourself, right here!

2. I used a clipping mask to add Mye’s Spookalicious papers to the entire house. To do this, drag the patterned paper layer right above the shape you want to clip it to. Then right click on the patterned paper, and select “create clipping mask.” It should clip the paper to the shape of the layer underneath.

3. I used the same clipping mask technique to add solid papers to the windows, and then added a few elements (tree, spider, caution sign, ghost) to another PDF file before printing.

4. This is optional, but I also found a box template online and clipped the star patterned paper to that for the house to have a base to stand on. I think a taller house appears more haunted!

5. Once everything is printed and cut out, fold the template on all the dotted lines.

6. Apply glue to the tabs, and adhere them inside the house. Apply glue to the sides of the roof, bending it around the top of the house and gluing it together in the middle.

7. Now’s the fun part- cutting out all those tiny windows! You can choose to add paper inside the frame, and cut around the outside of the window, or use an x-acto knife to slice out all the details.

8. Use your glue to attach the windows and other elements. I chose to add a caution sign to the house, and a spider to the tree using a piece of baker’s twine.

9. Finish assembling your house, and display it with your Halloween decorations!

10. Cut out the doors and windows and put a FLAMELESS, battery-operated  candle under your house for a fun twist!
