So, after a long long long time of waiting and working and finding time, I have finally kicked off working with my Project Life 2013 album. Of course, we’re way past the year 2013 already and with that, you probably know it means a lot of catching up. But heck, I am ready for that. I started the year with a clear goal in mind – getting a PL album done is one of them and I.am.going.to.make.it.happen. My personal mantra of the year – laziness will get you nowhere.
A couple of weeks ago, I recreated my album cover inspired by the videos I have watched from the fabulous Amy Tangerine at Two Peas in a Bucket.
I started hoarding a lot of her products from papers, to embellishments and stamps. It’s pretty obvious that Amy have become a major influence in this year’s project and have I mentioned how much I love her? So prepare to see a lot of Amy Tangerine goodness in my pages 🙂
That moment I finished my Album Cover page, I already knew I will love doing this. I am not a first time paper scrapbooker. I hoarded stuff once but got rid of them all in 2010 when I promised myself I’d commit to being 100% digital. As you can see now, that is no more. Once a scrapbooker, always a scrapbooker – and I am happy to embrace the real thing once more!
In my cover, I briefly discussed how 2012 ended and how 2013 started for our family. The ending of our 2012 was not as good as we expected and I wanted to take note of that and relate it to how we stood up, pulled ourselves together, fight and thrive. This is a very emotional page for me.
This journey is just the start and given that I have started pretty late, I developed a personal system to keep myself in the game while trying to catch up on those weeks I missed and I am sharing it here in case there are Project Lifers like me, who weren’t able to get it started on schedule.
- Get your album and page protectors in place and label each week spread so you don’t get lost.
- Work on your page cover – this gave me the feeling of getting something DONE.
- Don’t dwell on the past – MOVE. Do whatever is in front of you. Work on your current week and work on a random week when you recall the most of things. I started working my Week 26 page and caught up to Week 29 last weekend. Then, I worked on my Week 1 and 2.
- Keep going. Don’t lose hope.
I am hoping to get everything done pretty soon.
And while I was working on some photos earlier, I took out some from my completed spreads and played with it. Look what I got!
I loved them so much and what better way to give accent to your photos than doing it digitally and having them all printed. Nice and easy. I created a few to add to my photos and decided to wrap them and share with you all! I would love to see how you used them so please link me up to your creations!
